Fuel Saving Tips

Here are some simple fuel saving tips:

When sitting at traffic lights put your car in neutral or park.

When filling the car up, keep the hose in the tank until the pump shuts off completely. As much as half a cup can still be in the hose.

Settle your kids and make all car adjustments before you start the car. Avoiding idling for excessive periods of time.

Always try to accelerate gradually.

Air conditioners can use about 10 per cent extra fuel when operating. Wind down the windows at slower speeds.

Poor alignment not only causes tires to wear out more quickly, but also forces your engine to work harder. Align your tires, and save up to 10% on fuel.

Fuel consumption increases significantly over about 90 km/h. At 110 km/h your car uses up to 25 per cent more fuel than it would cruising at 90 km/h.
